Annecy is the largest and prettiest city in the Haute Savoie region of Southeastern France’s Alps. It’s just 35km from Geneva and the perfect spot for a catch-up lunch.

We met Kerryn and Frank here before going our separate ways and meeting again in Paris.

Annecy Castle includes the Queen’s Tower, dating from the 12th century. The walls of the main hall were once covered in tapestries. On our visit, there hangs large contemporary fabric artworks. Very cool.

In the photos below, noticed the curve in the seat where Rob is sitting, evidence of centuries of bums!
