Queenstown is renowned as the action capital of New Zealand, and we had an action plan! But, when the weather sets in here, the best plan is to sit back and enjoy the view. Or is it?
Day 1 – Bungy jump!
The adrenaline rush of the bungy was something Finn was looking forward to for the whole trip. The rest of us could barely manage to watch him as he shuffled to the edge of the iconic Kawarau Bridge, paused for a reassuring wave, and then plummeted 43 metres down towards the rushing, freezing river.

Finn almost hits the water with his hair, then recoils on the elastic band a few times. After several high-octane body spins, he steadies, reaches for an extended rod from some guys in an inflatable boat, and is pulled into the vessel. Straight away, Finn looks up at us and gives a reassuring wave. Phew!
Congratulations, Finn – you were awesome. You are one brave Stewart!

Final day
Since the bungy awesomeness, it’s been grey and rainy in Queenstown. Our Shotover jetboating has been cancelled. But nothing, not even torrential rain, will stop Gabe and I from trying the Queenstown Luge.
The four of us take the gondola up to the Queenstown mountain top for a spectacular (rainy) view of Lake Wakatipu.

Gabe and I brave the icy rain and take the ski lift further up the mountain for the downward luge.

This was so much FUN!

Thank you, Queenstown and New Zealand. We had a blast!
