Sighted: Australian pelican, silver gull, black swan, Pacific gull or kelp gull (very large, white head and black body while sitting), little wattlebird.

A long drive down the coast took us across the border into Victoria and into Lakes Entrance. Our simple cottage had a glassed-in deck with stonking views of the estuary and its many seabirds.

Dinner was seafood again (of course!) at the schmick waterfront restaurant, Sodafish. Rob’s whole King George whiting was the winner. And, yes, it came off one of the boats moored out the front.
